Abstract
The living conditions of the modern world have undergone significant changes due to rapid transformations, profoundly impacting supply chains. Managers now operate in increasingly uncertain environments, facing new risks that demand effective management strategies. As a result, supply chain risk management has become a critical area of focus. This study aims to identify and develop criteria for purchasing behavior patterns in the context of supply chain risks. A mixed-method approach was employed. In the qualitative phase, the statistical population comprised managers from companies within the Mobarakeh Steel Complex, selected through purposive sampling. Twelve managers were chosen based on theoretical saturation. Data analysis involved open, axial, and selective coding, culminating in the development of a qualitative model. The findings revealed 63 open codes, 15 subcategories, and six main categories: causal conditions (supply power, logistics risks, information security), the central category (knowledge transfer), strategies (financial sustainability, technology use), intervening conditions (risk assessment, flexibility), contextual factors (political stability, quality standards, regulations), and outcomes (product quality improvement, enhanced risk management). In the quantitative phase, the grounded theory model was tested using structural equation modeling, with a survey of 80 employees from the Mobarakeh Steel Complex. The results validated the model’s robustness.
