Abstract

One of the pathways to reach high economic growth in developing countries is to increase non-oil export sophistication. Due to the subject importance, first, it is tried to measure and evaluate the non-oil export complexities, and second, by applying panel  data and time series during 1997-2013, for 71 medium-income developing countries and Iran's non-oil export complexities by using the Least Square method. Based on the mentioned review, the amount of Iran's non-oil complexities has significantly increased comparing to the reviewing countries which, a large share of this growth depended on process industry development (with medium technology) and oil and gas resources. Also, the impact of human resource variables and import on Iran's and developing countries export complexities has been approved. Therefore, one of the proposed policies to increase export sophistication is to integrate human capital development policies and commercial policies.
